2016 - 2017 School Year Registration Procedures

Registration for classes for the 2016 – 2017 school year began November 20th thru December 9th.  The data collected at this early date will drive our Academic & Financial Plan (due 12/ 31) to be more student-centered.  Please discuss and utilize the course descriptions and registration manual with your son/daughter to ensure that choices made will satisfy graduation requirements and prepare them for post-high school.  If your child does not complete a card, someone will select courses for him/her and changes will not be allowed.

Friday, November 20:
In Advisory Class: 

  • Introduction to pathways being offered next school year (up to a possible 15 options to select from)
  • Work on individual students 5-year plan

Wednesday, November 25 ( Periods 2, 4, Advisory, 6):
In Advisory Class;

  • Distribution of registration packets to students (registration cards, manual & special pathway insert)
  • All students will review and update their Credit Check.

Friday, December 4:
In Advisory Class:

  • Check on progress of registration cards
  • Complete / modify 5-year plan

Wednesday, December 9

  • Special Registration Bell Schedule (Period 2, 4, Advisory – 60 minutes, 6)
  • Conferencing on course selections in Advisory & Collect registration cards
  • Senior Assembly

General Information for Student Registration:

  • Registration will be held in November-December in your Advisory class.
  • Students will receive a Credit Check from their Counselor.
  • Important to verify and update your credits to select the courses you need to graduate.
  • Obtain required teacher and parent signatures.  Courses without required teacher approvals will not be scheduled.
  • Turn in your Registration Card.  This is your only opportunity to choose the courses you want to take.  If you do not complete a card, someone will select courses for you and changes will not be allowed.
  • Ask your Advisory teacher and/or see your counselors if you need help or have questions.
